My favorite app on my phone by far is the Libby app. With it, while using my library card, I can borrow e-books and audiobooks. I am part of three libraries on it, so there is quite the selection. I can borrow as many books as I want per month as long as I only have a certain number at a time and return some when I want more. The only downside is that there are sometimes really long lines for popular books.

My second favorite app is Hoopla, another reading app made available through my library card. The difference is that there are no lines, but I have a limit of 5 books I can borrow every month. I like that it also has music, movies, and Bingepasses as well. An example of a Bingepass is 7 day access to Great Courses, and it counts as a borrow.

Goodreads is my next go-to app. I know, I know. There are alternatives now that are fancier and have different advantages. But I love its familiarity and simplicity. Goodreads is an app for rating and reviewing books, and it also allows you to make lists such as books you want to read, what you did not finish, and books you did finish. The app will also give suggestions for future reading and allows you to set an annual reading challenge for how many books you expect to finish in a year. The main downfall for me is the rating system only allows full stars. For example, you can rate a book 4 stars or 5 stars, but not 4.5 stars.

Webtoon is my next favorite one. On this app, you can read web comics, many of them free, some of them requiring you to watch ads, and some that must be purchased. I only ever read the free ones or watch the ads. Usually even the ones to purchase will become free if you wait a few days. Some of the web comics I have enjoyed are Somewhere in Between, Not Even Bones, Daybreak, and Tower of God.

My fifth favorite app is Bookshelf. I use the free version, and it allows me to input my entire collection of books. That’s how I realized I have over 500 books. It is also how when I go to a thrift store, I can look up books to see if I already have them and make sure I don’t get doubles.
